Who we are

Viziblty is a web studio for local businesses, serving Ottawa and Gatineau. For anything in this policy, reach us at Bookings@viziblty.com or (289) 668-1161. If you are in Quebec, you can address requests to the same contact, who acts as the person responsible for personal information under Law 25.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in a form, run the free scan, book a call, or email us, we receive what you send: usually your email address, the website you want checked, and anything you type in a message. You choose what to share.

Information we collect automatically. Like most websites, we record basic usage: pages viewed, the site or search that referred you, your approximate location from your IP address, and your device and browser type. This is analytics data, not your name.

• Google Analytics tells us which pages get used and where visitors come from.
• Microsoft Clarity shows anonymized session activity and heatmaps so we can fix confusing layouts. It masks text you type by default.
• Our own crawler sensor logs automated bots that visit the site (their user agent and IP), so we can measure AI-crawler activity. We keep these logs for 90 days, use them only in aggregate to measure crawler activity, and never use them to identify human visitors.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, and a small cookie to remember your light or dark theme. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can opt out of analytics through your browser settings, by using Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or by blocking these tools with a privacy extension. Blocking them will not stop you using the site.

Why we use it

When you run the free scan, we crawl the public pages of the site you submit and generate a report. We keep the submission and the results to follow up with you and to improve the scan. We do not publish your results or share them with anyone else without asking.

We do not sell your information, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.

• To answer your inquiry, run the scan you asked for, or set up a call.
• To understand what is useful on the site and improve it.
• To keep the site secure and working.

Who we share it with

We use a small set of trusted service providers to run the site, and they only handle what they need to. These include Google (Analytics), Microsoft (Clarity), Cal.com (call booking), and our website hosting and email delivery. Some of these providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We share information with them for the purposes above, and nothing more.

How long we keep it

When we no longer need something, we delete it.

• Inquiry and booking emails: kept up to 3 years for business records, then deleted.
• Free scan submissions: kept up to 3 years, on the same clock.
• Google Analytics: set to 14-month retention.
• Microsoft Clarity: follows Microsoft's standard retention.
• Crawler sensor logs: kept 90 days.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or opt out of analytics. Under Quebec's Law 25 you also have the right to access your information in a portable format and to know how it is used. Email Bookings@viziblty.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Children

This site is meant for business owners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For anything you are unsure about, just ask.
